Jessie J Cancels Toronto Show Over Winter Storm Safety Fears

Jessie J has cancelled her concert in Toronto hours before it was due to start, citing safety concerns amid a severe winter storm. The 37-year-old singer made the announcement on Instagram, apologising to fans and explaining that the decision was hers alone.

In her statement, Jessie J said: 'I am personally making the decision to cancel tonight's show in Toronto. I don't feel comfortable having people risk their safety for the show.' She added that she was already at the venue but believed the worsening snow conditions made it unsafe for fans to travel home in the dark.

The concert was scheduled for Sunday at the Danforth Music Hall. The storm has brought near-record snowfall to the city, with Environment Canada issuing orange winter storm warnings for the Greater Toronto Area. Up to 50 centimetres of snow is expected, leading to school closures and hundreds of flight cancellations.

Fans had previously urged Jessie J to reschedule, with one noting road conditions were 'terrible' and the weather 'extreme even for us Canadians'. Despite disappointment, many fans expressed respect for her decision. One wrote: 'Choosing your fans' safety speaks louder than any note ever could.'

Jessie J assured ticket holders they would receive full refunds. The City of Toronto has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel as continuous plowing operations continue.
