Jo Wood has spoken out for the first time about stepson Jesse Wood's baby news with his reality TV star girlfriend Gemma Gregory. The former model, 71, who helped raise Jesse during her 26-year marriage to Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, expressed her excitement and support for the couple.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Jo revealed how Jesse, 49, shared the news via text message. 'I'm very excited. It's great. I'm really happy for them. Gemma is lovely and a really nice woman,' she said. 'Jesse texted me: "Jo, I've got some great news…" I thought, woohoo! Wonderful!'
Jesse and Gemma announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child together, 16 months after Jesse's split from TV presenter Fearne Cotton, his wife of 10 years. Jo praised Gemma, saying she makes Jesse happy and will be a great mother. 'There's always hope - no matter what happens in life, you can never give up,' Jo added.
Jesse shares son Rex, 12, and daughter Honey, nine, with Fearne, as well as two adult children from his first marriage. Gemma also has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship. Jo confirmed that Jesse and Fearne are co-parenting successfully, with no bitterness between them.
Jesse went public with his relationship with Gemma last April. Gemma, the daughter of actor Paul Gregory, appeared in early episodes of Made In Chelsea and has worked as an actress and model. The couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram earlier this month.
