Alex Scott is expected to be absent from the official I'm a Celebrity Coming Out reunion following a family emergency involving her girlfriend, Jess Glynne. The former Lioness missed the programme's finale and has criticised ITV bosses for failing to portray her authentic character.
Scott became the first contestant voted off from the jungle and promptly returned to the UK. She was reunited with Glynne under challenging circumstances, as Glynne's mother had suffered a severe stroke that required emergency brain surgery.
Taking to social media, Glynne said: 'Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery. It's been a really life-altering time for my family, and I've had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where I'm needed most. I can't wait to have her back by my side.'
Scott had initially expressed appreciation for her I'm a Celeb journey, saying: 'It's been such an incredible experience. I didn't think that... mentally it is so tough, and I did struggle at times, missing home and everything. But I'm so glad I got to do this series with such a great bunch of campmates.'
However, she criticised the broadcaster for failing to show her fun side. Speaking on Lorraine, Scott said: 'I had so much fun, and that bit wasn't shown. I was called the Games Master in there... I wish more of the fun stuff, people had seen that side of me.'
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Scott confirmed she would miss the wrap party: 'It's been a hard couple of months... I want to be here for the wrap party and I have to get home straight away. She's my Jessica, and I'm going home to be her rock.' The I'm a Celebrity Coming Out programme will air on ITV1 and ITVX on Saturday, December 13 at 9:05pm.
