Jerry Hall on Turning 70: 'I'm the Naughty One' and Embracing Age
Jerry Hall: 'I'm the Naughty One' at 70, Embracing Age

Jerry Hall has opened up about her vices ahead of turning 70 next month, revealing that these days she is the 'naughty one' nearly 30 years after splitting from rock legend Mick Jagger. The supermodel and actress shared her birthday plans and why she is not afraid of getting older.

Jerry Hall's Birthday Plans

Jerry Hall will turn 70 on July 2, and she has revealed that she will celebrate with a party featuring a marquee in the garden, lunch, dancing, and an Elvis impersonator. All her family—daughters Elizabeth, 42, and Georgia May, 34, sons James, 40, and Gabriel, 28, plus her three grandchildren—will attend. Around 200 friends, including makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and artist Tracey Emin, are also expected.

From Goody-Goody to Naughty One

During her 22-year relationship with Mick Jagger, now 82, Jerry was known as the 'goody-goody' who never touched drugs while Mick indulged in LSD, cocaine, and heroin. Nowadays, Jerry still drinks and smokes, while her ex is famously sober. She told Vogue Magazine: 'I used to be considered the goody-goody when I drank and smoked only—now I'm the naughty one and I'm doing the exact same thing.'

She confessed: 'I like to drink wine at lunch and wine at dinner—if I have company I'll always have wine.' She also smokes about 10 American Spirit cigarettes a day, describing her habits as 'quite moderate.'

Embracing Age Gracefully

Jerry, who has never had plastic surgery or Botox, said she does not feel 70. Her secrets to aging gracefully include lots of sleep, plenty of water, and skipping dessert. She avoids the gym and rarely uses sunscreen. She added: 'I think we should be allowed to look 70... What's wrong with wrinkles? I have loads of wrinkles, but I don't mind. I'm 70, I should have wrinkles. I don't want to look weird, I don't want to scare my grandchildren.'

She said she would rather retire than go under the knife for her career, but there is no sign of retirement. She was recently announced as part of the star-studded line-up for this year's Celebrity Traitors UK, filming in Scotland alongside Richard E Grant, Michael Sheen, James Blunt, Maya Jama, Ross Kemp, and others.
