Janette Manrara: 'Done wasting time and energy'

Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has declared she is “done wasting time and energy” in a cryptic social media post. The former It Takes Two host, who was replaced on the spin-off show by Ellie Taylor, said she is now “done explaining herself to anyone”.

What Janette said

Posting a carousel of photos on Instagram, Janette wrote: “I AM DONE!!! Done wasting energy, time and space on these…”

Her list included “waiting to feel ready”, as she explained: “Confidence shows up AFTER you’ve started. Just go for it! Nerves and all!!”

Habits she is letting go of

Next was “explaining myself to anyone”, with Janette writing: “Not every decision needs justification. And not everyone needs to understand it.”

Third on the list was “confusing being busy with being successful”, as she wrote: “A full diary doesn’t always mean a full life. And exhaustion isn’t a personality trait (REALLY working on this one!)”

She is also refusing to “say ‘yes’ just to not disappoint someone”, explaining: “Sorry, not sorry. ‘Yes’ to you means ‘no’ to something I want more.”

The last thing on Janette’s list was “pretending I have it all figured out”, as she admitted: “I REALLY DON’T! Yes, I post good moments, but the journey is never straightforward. Mistakes, help from family and getting things wrong are pit stops all the way!”

Her caption and recent remarks

In her caption, Janette wrote: “A few things life has taught me lately. Do I still catch myself doing some of them? ABSOLUTELY.

“But I’m getting better at recognising the habits that don’t really serve me anymore. Sometimes learning what NOT to do is just as important as learning what to do.

“What’s one thing you’ve decided you’re not doing anymore? I might need to borrow a few answers.”

It comes after Janette shared her true feelings on being snubbed for the Strictly host job. She confessed it was “tough”, “because Strictly was such a huge part of my life, I was there for almost 14 years.” She added: “Aljaz is still in the show, so I just hoped that it would go in that way for me. But, it didn’t, and that’s okay because I think life finds a way of still giving you that magic that is needed for you.

“I really wanted to act. I had been working on my acting skills for the last couple of years, actually.”
