Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter has voiced her support for Brooklyn Beckham following his explosive public statement distancing himself from his famous family. Speaking on Tuesday's episode, Street-Porter urged viewers to 'cut him some slack' after Brooklyn detailed his grievances against parents David and Victoria Beckham.
Brooklyn, 26, took to Instagram to accuse his parents of controlling narratives in the press and maintaining a 'facade' at the expense of innocent people. He stated he does not want to reconcile with his family, insisting he is standing up for himself for the first time in his life. The aspiring chef also defended his wife, Nicola Peltz, against claims of manipulation.
Street-Porter described Brooklyn's statement as 'very articulate' and suggested he simply wants to be his own person. She criticised the Beckham brand, saying: 'I sometimes wish, for a day, when we weren't on planet Beckham.' She added that Brooklyn seems young for his age and needs time to find himself.
Fellow panellist Oti Mabuse called Brooklyn's actions 'incredibly brave', noting the difficulty of speaking against one's mother while supporting his wife. The discussion came as social media erupted following Brooklyn's announcement, which revealed long-standing tensions within the Beckham household.
