Jamie Redknapp's wife, Frida Andersson, has opened up about their blended family, describing their son Raphael as a 'godsend' who helped unite them after difficult divorces. The 42-year-old model has four children from her previous marriage to Jonathan Louie, while Jamie, 53, has two sons with ex-wife Louise Redknapp. The couple welcomed Raphael in November 2021, a month after their wedding.
Raphael as the Family Glue
Speaking on Gabby Logan's mid-point podcast, Andersson said: 'Going through a divorce is like putting a family through a tumble dryer. Having Rapha has been a godsend - he's the glue. Everyone wanted to come home and see Rapha.' She also told Closer magazine that 'spending quality time together' and family meals helped them transition into a fully blended family.
Andersson added: 'One of the biggest blessings has been our youngest son, Raphael. In so many ways, he's the glue that holds everyone together. All the siblings adore him and everyone wants to come home and spend time with him. He brings everyone into the same room without even realising it.'
Jamie Redknapp's Healthier Lifestyle
Jamie Redknapp has also credited Raphael with inspiring him to live healthier. The former Liverpool star shared on The Romesh Ranganathan Show that he stopped drinking after a birthday incident. He explained: 'It was 25th June my birthday... I'd just forgotten to eat. By the time I got to the club I was in a mess... the next day I woke up horrendous.' He added: 'I want to wake up every morning and when I see Rapha, I don't want to feel like "oh I feel rubbish today", I want to get up earlier than him and be as healthy as possible.'
