Jamie Laing has faced criticism after revealing on his podcast that he tried to initiate sex with his wife Sophie Habboo just weeks after she gave birth. The former Made in Chelsea star made the admission during an episode of NewlyParents, which has since been removed from streaming platforms.
In a clip shared on TikTok, Laing, 37, said he 'tried to initiate it a couple weeks in'. Habboo, 32, responded by mimicking his complaints about having 'waited a year'. Laing denied being 'literally crying' as he asked for sex. Habboo recalled telling him she had stitches and needed medical clearance, to which Laing allegedly replied: 'Oh that's bulls***, always an excuse with you.'
Social media users expressed shock, with one calling it 'horrifying' and another noting that sex is not recommended until six weeks postpartum. In a statement to Metro, Habboo said: 'Jamie and I have always had a relationship based on equality and mutual respect. We don't want our comments to be misunderstood... in no way should this be seen as making light of serious matters.'
The couple, who welcomed son Ziggy on December 4, 2025, have since released a Disney Plus series and continued their podcast. The controversial episode has been removed from Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, Acast and Apple.
