Jamie Laing has faced backlash after revealing on his podcast that he attempted to initiate sex with his wife Sophie Habboo just weeks after she gave birth. The couple, known for their roles on Made in Chelsea, discussed the incident on their show NewlyParents following the birth of their son Ziggy.
In the conversation, Sophie recalled telling Jamie she had stitches and needed medical clearance. She said he responded, 'Oh that's bulls***, always an excuse with you, you don't have to be signed off with the doctor.' Jamie later admitted he 'tried to initiate it a couple weeks in' and was seen laughing during the exchange.
Social media users reacted with shock, with one calling it 'horrifying' and another noting that sex is not recommended until after six weeks postpartum. Sophie later issued a statement saying the comments were 'light-hearted' but acknowledged the seriousness of the issue, adding, 'We always take on board the feedback of our listeners.'
The clip, originally posted on TikTok, has since been removed from major podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple. The couple welcomed Ziggy on December 4, 2025, and have since released a Disney Plus series and continued their podcast.
