James Nelson-Joyce has reportedly split from Love Island star Samantha Kenny. The 28-year-old, who appeared on season 11 of the ITV reality series, teased her relationship with the This City Is Ours star back in June. The relationship came just months after James' split from Coronation Street actress Olivia Frances Brown.
Actor's rising career
The Liverpool-born actor has enjoyed an impressive start to his career with his scene-stealing performance in A Thousand Blows before he proved his leading man credentials in This City Is Ours. The 37-year-old star was rumoured to be dating Samantha Kenny, but it appears their relationship has now come to an end.
Romance teased on TikTok
Samantha teased her romance with the actor in a TikTok posted last month. She shared a video of her new mystery man who was applying her lip liner. The man's face was not featured, but his voice could be heard. Samantha added the words: "Bafta nominee turned MUA", which only confirmed fans' guesses. James was nominated in the best actor category at this year's BAFTA TV Awards.
Fans could hear his Scouse accent, as he said: "I can't do it when you're talking can I." Taking to the comments, fans "confirmed" the man in question was James Nelson-Joyce. One said: "Oh we all recognise that voice" and another said: "Definitely James you lucky lady lol."
Single status hinted
However, fans believe Samantha has confirmed she is now "single". In a TikTok post, the reality star shared a video of her on holiday in Ibiza, adding the caption: "It's a hot girl summer." One fan wrote in the comments: "She's single" while a second replied: "How is this beautiful woman single!!" Although nothing has been confirmed, James and Samantha have now unfollowed one another on Instagram.
Previous engagement
The A Thousand Blows actor was previously engaged to Coronation Street actress Olivia Frances Brown. Olivia, 27, made her debut during one of the most memorable episodes in soap history, as Coronation Street and Emmerdale treated fans to a special cross-over episode named "Corriedale" in January.
James' former fiancée arrived on the cobbles as Jodie Ramsay, the younger sister of Shona Platt (Julia Goulding). At the time, James re-shared a post on Instagram to show his support for his partner, he added two love heart emojis alongside a photo of her in character on the soap. Olivia and James were in a relationship for many years, and they often shared aspects of their life together on social media. They announced their engagement last summer.
They were spotted together soaking up the sun on the docks in March this year. They visited The Daffodil, the former Mersey Ferry which is now berthed in Canning Dock as a floating bar and restaurant.
