Celebrity chef James Martin, 53, has reportedly become engaged to his girlfriend, personal trainer Kim Johnson, 39, after a Christmas proposal. The news comes as a surprise to many, as Martin had previously stated he had no interest in marriage, saying he didn't 'need to spend 60 grand on a day'.
Kim Johnson, who was previously married to Liz Hurley's millionaire ex-husband Arun Nayar, confirmed the engagement on Instagram, posting a picture of one of Martin's dishes with the caption: 'So proud of my fiancé.' The couple have been dating for two years.
Martin's romantic history includes a headline-making relationship with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, 12 years his senior, which lasted four and a half years. He described her as 'the first real love of my life' but acknowledged an 'imbalance' in their relationship due to her wealth.
He also had a 12-year relationship with Louise Davies, who he met while filming 'Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'. The pair split in 2024 but remain 'firm friends'.
In a 2019 interview, Martin said marriage didn't interest him, citing his experience catering for weddings. However, his recent engagement suggests a change of heart.
