James Haskell has opened up about his biggest regret from his marriage to Chloe Madeley, admitting his frequent partying contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
What James Haskell said about his marriage regrets
Speaking to Coleen Nolan on the Nolans Uncensored podcast, the former rugby star confessed he should not have taken 12 trips to Ibiza in the year Chloe had their daughter Bodhi. "Should I have done all of that? No," he said. "Should I have been around more? Yes."
The couple married in 2018 and welcomed Bodhi in 2022, but split in October 2023 after tensions grew. Haskell described himself as a "workaholic" and said Chloe hoped he would be at home more after his rugby retirement.
Impact of his actions on the relationship
While Haskell partied in Ibiza, the relationship deteriorated. After his 12th trip, the couple ended their marriage. In the months before the split, Haskell was seen in London nightclubs while Chloe stayed home with their toddler. Reports also emerged of him celebrating with a bikini-clad lookalike of Chloe.
Haskell admitted he "probably didn't support her enough" during the marriage. The couple have since reconciled as co-parents, and Haskell now looks after Bodhi 45% of the time, planning ahead to maximise time with his daughter.
