James Corden Mocks Scotland Fans' Miami Song, Tartan Army Hits Back

James Corden has faced backlash after making a subtle dig at the Tartan Army's viral Miami anthem during an episode of his World Cup show, After Hours with James Corden. The Gavin and Stacey actor was discussing a widely shared clip of four Scotland fans driving through Florida while singing a Scotland-themed version of Will Smith's hit song Miami.

Corden's Comments Spark Criticism

Dressed in Scotland football strips, tartan hats, and sunglasses, the supporters sang: "Scotland in the city with the sun cream on, drinking beers on the beach since the break of dawn. Welcome to Miami. Bienvenidos Tartan Army." The footage left Corden and his panel laughing, but he couldn't resist comparing it to his Carpool Karaoke segment. He joked: "When I look at that I think, 'yeah it's not as easy as it looks is it. Singing in a car, you think you know what to do but it's tough'."

Fans Respond on Social Media

Many viewers felt Corden turned the spotlight back on himself, prompting a wave of comments. One user said: "Nah it canny be especially when there's one take, no auto tuning or a superstar to help you out." Another added: "Yeah, but they were driving their car, not like you." A third commented: "Shock... made it about himself in six seconds." A Scottish fan joked: "James jealous that the Tartan Army are more entertaining in a car than him," while another stated: "Think they sound better than big Jamesy boy!"

Comedian Joins in on Fun

Comedian Ian Kamel also poked fun at the Scots' fair complexion, joking: "The sun burns that are about to happen are going to be studied by medical science for the next 100 years." The comment left the studio in laughter as Kamel added the fans would 'die' from the Miami heat.
