Jake Quickenden shared a steamy topless selfie with his social media followers following his split from wife Sophie Church. The former X Factor star took to his Instagram to share the pic following a workout.
Captioning the post on his Instagram stories, the 37-year-old wrote, “Needed that today!! Now off to work!! Can’t wait for the three hour drive in,” as he used a social tag to post the temperature as well.
In the photo, Jake can be seen standing under the sun with his shirt off post-workout as sweat trickles down his abs.
Breakup Confirmed
The sexy snap comes just after the former reality show contestant broke his silence following his split from wife, Sophie Church. Speculation had been growing for months about the breakdown in Sophie and Jake’s relationship before sources confirmed it this week. The couple, who married in 2022 and share two children together, have formally separated.
The former I’m A Celeb star and Sophie are understood to have informed their close friends and family about their decision to split.
Amicable Separation
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Jake and Sophie have ended their marriage, but they remain incredibly amicable. There is still a huge amount of love and respect between them. Their main priority has always been, and continues to be, their children, and they are fully committed to being the best parents possible.”
According to the source, nothing major happened to spur them into calling it quits but rather it was just a case of they “started to grow apart” after “some long and honest conversations” about the relationship. “While they might not be together anymore, they are still on great terms and looking forward to the future, co-parenting together. Maintaining a happy and supportive family unit together is their focus now.”
Jake's Response
Opening up on their split for the first time, Jake shared an Instagram post of him and his two kids captioned: “My boys… My world!!” The Dancing on Ice star also responded to a fan’s comment after they said: “Whatever is happening the kids have the best parents ever… dad and mum who love them so much! I hope things work out for the best! Positivity your way!”
Jake answered by saying, “Appreciate that, they are all that matter,” in line with the amicable co-parenting relationship he is striving for with Sophie.
Jake has appeared on the X Factor twice, once in 2012 and then again two years later in 2014. During his first stint he was sent home just before the live shows. During his second round in 2014, he was the fifth contestant to be eliminated as the live rounds began to unfold. Most recently, he has taken on the role of Scarecrow in a theatre performance of The Wizard of Oz, which is running until the end of the year.
