Jade Thirlwall appeared to hint at her split from Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens weeks before the news about the split was revealed to the public.
Breakup News Emerges
The news that the couple had broken up emerged after a source claimed that they had serious discussions about their future: "Jade and Jordan had a very serious and loving relationship but recently they have had some frank discussions about their future and have decided to separate. It's not been an easy time but they've both been throwing themselves into work."
Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "Their friends adore them as a couple and are really hoping they get back together but it's still very raw at the moment."
Jade's Cryptic Hint
While the couple has yet to officially confirm the news, Jade appeared to have hinted at a breakup as she alluded to going 'through something privately'.
"Right now, I don't even know where it's heading. I'm just writing stuff. Whatever I'm going through at the minute, like privately, I'm sort of putting pen to paper. I think this is the exciting phase or the experimental phase, where you don't know what it's going to be yet."
The Little Mix star continued to tell The Fader: "For me, that's sometimes the most magical part as an artist when you're writing music. Come and ask me in a few months' time and we'll see where we're at."
Social Media Clues
The couple hadn't posted each other on their social media pages in months, with Jordan last appearing in a roundup carousel on Jade's page in March. In addition, neither Jordan nor Jade celebrated their anniversary in May, something that in previous years the singer had marked with a post.
Jordan appeared to wipe images of Jade from his Instagram and a recent post on social media suggested that he has been on a solo retreat to the countryside, enjoying a bit of escapism and getting back to nature with several images of horses, sheep and sunsets appearing on his page. The couple still follows one another on social media, with reports from sources that the couple is hoping to reconcile.
Jordan's Past Praise
In an interview last year, Jordan praised Jade for changing his life as he gushed about their love during on Loose Women. "I literally had a list of qualities I wanted in a relationship which isn't something that especially a lot of men really think about. So when I met Jade I literally went through the list and was like 'I think she's great'," he said.
