Jack Tweed, the widower of late reality TV star Jade Goody, has revealed he plans to remarry and have children, 15 years after his emotionally charged wedding to Goody. The 36-year-old electrician is now in a relationship with Ellie Sargeant, a 29-year-old personal assistant, whom he has been dating for over two years after meeting through mutual friends in Essex.
Tweed, who married Goody in February 2009 just four weeks before her death from cervical cancer at age 27, spoke candidly about moving on. 'This is love again. I never thought I would find it. But 15 years on from Jade passing away, I feel like I've found love once more,' he said. 'I've taken my time – I couldn't rush.'
After Goody's death, Tweed struggled with alcohol and depression. He said he will always love Goody but believes she would want him to be happy. 'I finally feel able to move on. It was about finding the right time,' he added. Tweed said marriage is 'absolutely something I'm thinking about' and that he and Sargeant are considering having children.
Tweed became a stepfather to Goody's sons, Bobby Brazier, now 20, and Freddie, 19, after her death. The rights to his wedding photos were sold to provide for the boys. He expressed pride in Bobby, who has become an actor on EastEnders, and Freddie, saying they remind him of Goody.
Goody's death led to a surge in cervical cancer screenings. Tweed urged women to get screened, calling it 'a huge part of her legacy.'
