Jackie Apostel: 'Scars Are Sexy' After Spinal Fusion Surgery

Jackie Apostel, the girlfriend of Cruz Beckham, posed topless on social media to mark the second anniversary of her spinal fusion surgery, declaring that 'scars are sexy.' The 30-year-old German-Brazilian singer shared a carousel of images on Instagram, including two snaps of herself standing in front of a wall wearing only jeans, revealing the scar on her back. She wrote on the first image: 'Your scars are sexy.' A second close-up showed the scar prominently. The caption read: '2 years ago today I had my full spinal fusion. never ever felt better and we love a cute scar.' She added, referencing her jeans from Good American: 'Just a lil wear & tear jeans are @goodamerican (happy 4th!)'

Fan Reactions and Support

Fans flooded the post with supportive comments. One wrote: 'Love this!!!! We're scar twins!!!!!' Another said: 'So so stunning.' A third described her as 'beautiful and strong,' while someone else commented: 'So so proud. u look so so beautiful. scars don't define a person they just make them even cooler.'

Understanding Spinal Fusion

Spinal fusion is a surgical procedure that permanently connects two or more vertebrae in the spine, allowing them to heal into a single, solid bone. The surgery stabilises the spine and eliminates painful motion, typically using metal rods, screws, and bone grafts. According to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, doctors generally recommend spinal fusion as a last resort when non-surgical treatments have failed to relieve pain or stabilise the spine.

Jackie's Recovery Journey

In October 2024, shortly after the operation, Jackie posted a snap of her large scar. She told followers that she lost the ability to walk after surgery and had to relearn how to. She shared: 'Random thought. Wild to think 3 months ago I was relearning to walk and couldn't get up. Physically and mentally I had a hard time, took forever to be ok with myself again especially work and writing wise. Our bodies are awesome and capable of so much. Take a moment to be grateful for ur support systems, own willpower and strength, whatever ur going through. We all know it's ok not to be ok all the time and hope everyone is taking care of themselves as much as possible/taking moments to focus on mental and physical health. Also, check in on ur friends. Sending everyone health hugs and love!'
