Jack Whitehall has revealed he received a warning from ITV lawyers about making jokes about Donald Trump, as he prepares to host the Brit Awards for the sixth time. The 37-year-old comedian will front the ceremony from Manchester for the first time in its history.
Whitehall, known for his sharp wit, said American stars often take issue with his punchlines. He claimed Jared Leto was particularly unimpressed and deleted his intro during rehearsals. To avoid interference, Whitehall now uses a decoy script during rehearsals and reveals the real jokes on the night.
He told The Heart Radio Breakfast Show: 'They got an email forwarded to me this week from the ITV lawyer saying, “Just reminding you that Donald Trump is very litigious.”' Whitehall also revealed that Harry Styles' team rejected a joke involving the singer living in a hut and being shaved by Whitehall.
The Brit Awards 2026 will feature performances from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, and Raye, with a special tribute to Ozzy Osbourne led by Robbie Williams. The ceremony airs tonight at 8pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
