Jack Tweed has revealed that he has struggled to find love since the death of his wife, Jade Goody, 15 years ago, saying 'no one really compares.' The 32-year-old married the Big Brother star in February 2009, just one month before she died of cervical cancer at the age of 27.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Tweed confirmed that he 'hasn't met anyone' in the years since. 'I'm alright, I just get by,' he told hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley. 'But yes, I haven't met anyone. I don't feel like I could meet anyone yet, as no one really compares to Jade, so I don't want to put that person… It's not fair on a person to put them through that.'
Tweed said that watching the first episode of Channel 4 documentary 'Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain' had 'brought her back for a little bit' and admitted that he 'didn't want it to end.' He added that hearing her voice made him 'feel closer to her.'
He also shared his hope that the documentary will help promote cervical cancer screening. Following Goody's death, the number of women attending cervical cancer screenings rose by half a million. However, screening rates are currently on the decline across the UK, with recent data revealing that the number of women attending has fallen to a 20-year low. Around 2,600 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in England each year, with around 690 deaths.
