Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd has shared new details about his wedding to Hanni Treweek, including an awkward error that saw some guests miss part of the ceremony. The couple, who married in July at Manchester Cathedral, were joined by family and friends for the lavish affair. However, Hanni's Irish relatives ended up at the wrong church, assuming the service would be held at a Catholic church behind Deansgate.
Speaking on the On The Sofa podcast, Jack explained that the guests only realised their mistake when they found themselves alone in the empty building. "They had to look at their text messages and invites to see where it was," he said. The mishap was one of several hiccups on the day, which also included wardrobe issues for the groomsmen.
Jack's co-stars and groomsmen, Colson Smith and Ben Price, faced last-minute dramas. Colson discovered his shirt didn't fit around his neck or chest, prompting a frantic dash to a shop. A road closure due to Manchester Day made the trip more complicated, but he managed to return within 26 minutes. He also admitted to wearing the wrong colour socks — light blue instead of the required black.
Despite the chaos, the ceremony was a fairytale affair, with Hanni walking down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme, performed by a live orchestra. Jack had timed the pre-ceremony soundtrack, including Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy', so he knew exactly when his bride was arriving. The wedding was planned by award-winning wedding planner Liz Taylor's company, The Taylor Lynn Corporation.
The reception took place at Halle St Peters in Ancoats, described by insiders as a "hidden gem". Guests included Coronation Street colleagues Lucy Fallon, Alan Halsall, Tina O'Brien, and Helen Worth, as well as Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes. The newlyweds have since enjoyed a honeymoon in picturesque Italy.
