Jaafar Jackson Channels Uncle Michael in First Biopic Trailer

Michael Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson has unveiled the first official trailer for the upcoming biopic 'Michael', in which he portrays the late King of Pop. The 29-year-old actor bears a striking resemblance to his famous uncle, who died in 2009 at age 50.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film is now scheduled for release on April 24, 2026, after three delays. The trailer opens with Jaafar as a young Michael in a studio, as a voiceover says: 'I know you have been waiting a long time for this. The tracks are made. The songs are ready. Let's take it from the top.'

The teaser features scenes of a sold-out stadium concert, Jaafar performing the moonwalk, and a recreation of the iconic 'Thriller' music video in a red-and-black leather outfit. In one scene, Jaafar, as Michael, asks: 'Q, can you lower the lights for me please?'

The biopic was initially set for April 2025, then pushed to October 2025, before settling on the April 2026 date. Sources cited distribution plans, including an IMAX release, as reasons for the delays.
