Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins received a message of support from former co-star Adam Thomas as fans continue to call for his return to the ITV soap.
Isabel, who has played Victoria Sugden since 2006, went on maternity leave earlier this year to welcome her first child, Georgie, with husband Adam Whitehead. She has confirmed her departure is not permanent and teased a return to set later this year.
Isabel's Holiday Update
The actress regularly shares updates on Instagram since becoming a mother. This week, the family of three went on holiday, with Georgie enjoying the sunshine for the second time. Sitting by the pool, Isabel joked that she has tasked Adam with making friends with other hotel guests to team up for quiz night.
In the comments, Adam Thomas told Isabel he is "loving the content". Fans have been demanding his return to the Dales as Adam Barton.
Adam Barton's Storyline
Victoria ended up in a relationship with Adam Barton, who set up a scrapyard with her brother Robert Sugden. After a few months together, Adam gave Victoria a car for her 21st birthday and proposed. Victoria initially said yes but called off the wedding, feeling she was too young. Adam then had a one-night stand with Vanessa, which led to a furious Victoria trying to run him over.
The pair eventually reconciled and married, but their happiness was disrupted by the belief that Adam was the father of Vanessa's baby. Adam failed to attend Vanessa's scan, and she left Emmerdale. It was later revealed that Kirin Kotecha was the father.
Adam Thomas left the soap in 2018 after nearly a decade, with his character going on the run after falsely confessing to the murder of Emma Barton to protect his mother.
