Charlie Brooks, best known for her role as the devious Janine Butcher in BBC's EastEnders, has been at the centre of some of Walford's most dramatic storylines. Rumours suggest the notorious character could be making a comeback to Albert Square. According to The Sun, the actress has already filmed scenes for an "explosive" plotline yet to air. The BBC has been approached for comment.
Early Career and Personal Life
Charlie first joined the soap in 1999 and has made several appearances over the years, becoming a firm favourite with viewers. Away from the cameras, she was romantically involved with nightlife mogul Tony Truman, co-owner of the Ibiza pool party venue O Beach alongside Wayne Lineker. The couple welcomed a daughter, Kiki, in 2004 but separated when she was still a toddler. Despite the split, Charlie and Tony have maintained a close friendship and co-parent. She once revealed that Tony lives in the flat above hers. "We are going to grow old together, just in a very different way," she shared on Yahoo's White Wine Question Time podcast. "He is absolutely my family and nothing will ever change that."
Sex Toy Business
Charlie launched her own sex toy venture. Speaking on ITV's This Morning, she explained the idea came to her as she neared her 40th birthday and felt her life was "standing still." She had an idea for a vibrator designed with female anatomy in mind, acquired some clay, and "started making it around my kitchen table." After consulting friends, product designers, and holding meetings with companies like Ann Summers, she developed the U vibrator.
Healthy Lifestyle
A few years ago, Charlie revealed she had chosen to give up drinking, as she felt alcohol "wasn't serving me any more." She told Fabulous magazine it was "one of the best decisions I've ever made," adding: "Drinking stopped being worth it for me. It made me eat s**t food and the hangovers were taking forever to recover from."
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am.
