A woman has defended her decision to skip her friend's wedding after learning the bride-to-be had an affair with a married father. The anonymous user took to Reddit to share her story, explaining that her friend, whom she called Kate, initially kept her relationship secret before revealing the truth.
According to the post, Kate confessed that she had been seeing a man who was already married with children. She described climbing through his window to see him, and on one occasion, his wife caught them in the act. The man subsequently chose to leave his family for Kate, claiming it was 'true love'.
The woman told Kate she could not support a couple who 'ruined a family' and would not attend the wedding. She has since distanced herself from Kate, who branded her as 'horrible' for turning her back. Other friends in the group also criticised her, saying the man 'made his choice' and she should reconsider.
In her post, the woman wrote: 'I just don't feel right about it. If I quietly attended the wedding, seeing this girl and this guy happily saying their I dos knowing that this man had a family that he abandoned. No matter how I spin it, it feels wrong.'
