NYC Mayor Fuels Taylor Swift Wedding Rumours with Cryptic Heatwave Advice

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has sparked fresh speculation that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will marry at Madison Square Garden this weekend, after making a series of cryptic comments during a press conference about an impending heatwave.

At a press conference on June 30, a reporter asked the mayor whether New Yorkers should expect street closures similar to those seen during Knicks games, given reports that Swift's wedding is set for Thursday and Friday at MSG. Mamdani replied: 'My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool. And if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside, and you will be staying cool.'

The mayor later shared a video on social media about the historic heatwave, again hinting at the rumoured wedding. 'Here's what you should know about the historic heat wave headed our way. Especially if you're (hypothetically) having your wedding at MSG this weekend,' he said. Temperatures could reach 100°F (38°C), feeling as high as 112°F (44°C).

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2024 and got engaged in August 2025. Fans have speculated for months about the wedding date and venue. Several outlets have reported that a permit was filed to close streets around MSG between July 2 and 4. Earlier rumours of a Rhode Island wedding were dismissed by a local wedding planner.
