Hugh Hefner's Widow Crystal Harris Marries Again, Admits She Never Loved Playboy Founder

Crystal Harris, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has remarried and admitted she never loved her first husband. The 39-year-old former model wed Hawaiian businessman James Ward, 42, in an intimate ceremony in the Cook Islands on Thursday.

Harris, who was 24 when she married the 84-year-old Hefner in 2012, told People magazine: 'We didn’t want a huge production. We wanted something quiet and personal.' She added that the remote location felt 'incredibly peaceful and authentic'.

In her memoir 'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself', Harris described her relationship with Hefner as 'emotionally abusive' and said she 'never been in love' with him. She likened her feelings to those for an elderly relative, writing: 'I loved this old man in the ways you are supposed to love your elders.'

Harris also criticised their sex life, calling it 'odd and robotic' and claiming it was about 'power and control'. Despite not being in Hefner's will, she received a payout due to their marriage at his death in 2017, and sold a Hollywood Hills home left in trust for her.
