A hotel receptionist working on minimum wage in Greece has shared an outlandish request from a couple who wanted an elaborate romantic surprise at their dinner.
Requests for a 'movie romance' scene
Myrto, a hotel receptionist in Greece, posted on Reddit about an email request for a 'special dinner' for a couple named Lucas and Lillie. The email thanked Myrto for the 'truly wonderful' surprise the team had prepared, then listed further requests from Lucas to 'make the evening even more memorable'.
Lucas wanted Lillie to arrive at the restaurant 'blindfolded' to keep the surprise a 'complete secret until the very last moment'. The couple also requested a 'round of applause' from staff upon their arrival, followed by a second round of applause when their champagne was opened.
Champagne at exactly 7.47pm
Lucas wanted the champagne opened at exactly 7.47pm, as this 'was the exact minute' the couple 'got engaged two years ago' and was a 'particularly meaningful moment'.
Myrto commented: 'Nothing says "minimum wage" like being asked to direct a surprise entrance, coordinate two rounds of applause, and uncork champagne at exactly 19:47.' She added that the couple were nice people, but it was 'wild how some guests expect the staff to choreograph an entire production while we're already juggling check-ins, calls, and a hundred other things.'
