Holly Willoughby has faced criticism from fans after interviewing adult content creator Lily Phillips on her new YouTube lifestyle show, Together. The former This Morning presenter, 45, launched the series last month, featuring celebrity guests and people who have led extraordinary or unconventional lives.
In one of her latest interviews, Holly spoke to millionaire adult star Lily, discussing topics including sex, relationships, money, religion and the reality of her career. Lily, who grew up in Derbyshire, claims to have earned as much as £800,000 in one month. During the conversation, Holly also asked Lily about how her boyfriend feels about her work and her decision to embrace religion.
Fans React to the Interview
After a clip from the interview was shared on Instagram, some of Holly's followers expressed disappointment with her choice of guest. One person wrote: “Why is she being given a platform? Why is this behaviour normalised? And bringing God into the conversation makes this ok?? Nothing holy about this at all.”
Another claimed the interview had changed their opinion of Holly, writing: "SO shocked at you doing this. I thought it was actually AI. This is so degrading for your career. It has completely changed my opinion on you. I get that you want to push boundaries and change your profile but this is not the way to go. Absolutely gutted after loving you for so many years x."
A third questioned: "I wonder if Holly would be happy for her daughter to see this interview splashed all over social media? This is exactly why my girls are not allowed social media." Others took aim at Lily's comments about religion, with one joking: "Paha ‘god put me into this industry for this reason’…. I might use that line tonight. God put this glass of wine in my hand for a reason." Another remarked: "How how how has it come to this holly? A new low."
Support for the Conversation
However, not everyone was against Holly tackling the subject. One person argued that conversations about the adult industry and its potential consequences were important, writing: "In 2026, we can’t keep pretending this doesn’t exist. Sex work has existed for years, but platforms like OnlyFans and the visibility created during COVID have changed the scale and accessibility."
They added: "Seeing figures like 800k or millions sounds incredible, but we also need to talk honestly about the long-term impact, digital footprints, relationships, careers, and how young people are being drawn into this industry. This isn’t about judging individuals, it’s about acknowledging the reality and having the conversation."
Mixed Reception for Together
The backlash comes weeks after Holly asked viewers to be candid about their thoughts on Together, which marked a new chapter in her career following her departure from This Morning. The series kicked off with Hollywood star Stanley Tucci and has since welcomed guests including comedians Joanne McNally and Katherine Ryan.
The project has had a mixed reception, with some viewers previously branding it "boring" and one claiming they switched off the first episode after just ten minutes. Holly later encouraged followers to keep sharing their opinions, saying: "Thanks for all your feedback as well because it’s really great hearing what you think, and what you like, and what you don’t like - because that’s equally as important, as well. So keep it coming."
Together is part of Holly's return to the spotlight after she stepped down from This Morning in October 2023 following 14 years on the ITV daytime programme. At the time, she said she had made the decision "for me and my family", before largely retreating from television. Reports now suggest she is preparing to film a pilot for a Disney+ chat show centred around empowerment and authenticity.
