ITV presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announced their separation in May and are now in the process of divorce after 14 years of marriage. The news came as a shock, though speculation had been mounting after the couple were rarely pictured together.
According to reports, former This Morning host Holly Willoughby has offered her support to Ruth. A source told Closer Online: 'Holly really feels for Ruth at the moment. Even though it seems the divorce was her choice, she knows she’s going to feel the fallout of it.'
The source added that Holly, currently in Costa Rica filming Netflix’s Bear Hunt, plans to meet Ruth for lunch when she returns to the UK. 'She wants to meet up with Ruth when she’s back from filming and just have a fun lunch out together and show that there are no hard feelings,' they said.
Relations between the two women have been strained in the past due to tensions between Eamonn and Holly's former co-host Phillip Schofield. However, the source noted: 'Now she’s no longer on This Morning and away from Phil, she can see things more clearly from both sides.'
