Holly Hagan's Sister Died from MDMA Overdose and Multi-Organ Failure, Inquest Hears

The teenage sister of Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan died from multi-organ failure and an MDMA overdose after a night out at Manchester's Warehouse Project, an inquest has heard. Darci Rose Gibson, 19, was rushed to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during the club night on October 18, 2025, but died two days later at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Manchester Coroner's Court was told on Monday that toxicology tests found high levels of MDMA in her blood and urine. Acting senior coroner Zak Golombeck gave a provisional cause of death as multi-organ failure and MDMA overdose, pending a full inquest. He confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances or evidence of third-party involvement.

Holly Hagan previously revealed that Darci had mixed crystal MDMA into a drink at the club. In an emotional Instagram tribute, Holly thanked paramedics and hospital staff for giving her sister the best chance, saying: 'It is with immeasurable grief and sadness that our baby girl, my baby sister Darci Rose passed away peacefully holding my hand surrounded by family and her best friends.'

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: 'On Sunday 19 October 2025 we were called by hospital staff to the concern for welfare of a 19-year-old woman who had fallen seriously ill after it is believed she had taken drugs. Sadly, the woman died in hospital Monday evening. Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time.'

The inquest was adjourned to a later date, with no date set for a full hearing.
