An eyewitness has described the moment a passenger threw himself in front of a knife to protect a young female traveller during a stabbing on a Doncaster to London train. The attack, initially mistaken for a Halloween prank, left two people fighting for their lives in hospital.
Passenger Olly Foster told BBC News that the scene turned from confusion to terror as the attacker moved through the carriages. He recounted the bravery of an older man who intervened when a teenage girl was targeted. “One of the older guys – who was an absolute hero – blocked it with his head,” Foster said.
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of attempted murder. A 32-year-old Black British national and a 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent are in custody. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, which caused panic among passengers on the train.
