Helen Skelton has spoken out about the persistent speculation linking her romantically with Morning Live co-host Gethin Jones, describing the rumours as 'wild' and insisting she will 'die happy' despite continued questioning from her children.
The Countryfile presenter, 41, told The Times that the gossip had reached such heights that her best friend congratulated her on an alleged engagement. 'We're not (together). We work together; he's one of my best friends,' she clarified.
Skelton, who split from rugby player Richie Myler in 2022, revealed her middle son asked: 'Do you think you'll die alone?' She responded: 'I just laughed. I said, 'I'll die happy'.' Her daughter also questioned why she does not wear a wedding ring.
The mother-of-three expressed no interest in dating apps, joking that her father confuses Tinder with the second-hand clothing app Vinted. She and Jones have been photographed together at work events, but she maintains they are merely work friends.
Both presenters have been nominated for Best Presenter at the National Television Awards, with Morning Live also up for Best Daytime Show. A BBC statement confirmed their nominations.
