Call the Midwife star Helen George has broken her silence on the breakdown of her relationship with boyfriend Dan Innes, revealing she has been left in tears over what she describes as a 'pretty s**t' situation.

In an episode of her podcast, Mystic Mates, the 42-year-old actress, who played Trixie in the hit BBC drama, admitted to her co-host Yvette Robinson that she has been struggling emotionally. 'There’s been voice notes, there’s been tears, it's been pretty s**t,' she said, adding that the 'recent events in my love life' have been weighing on her mind.
When Yvette asked what was troubling her, Helen replied: 'I'm going through some personal things,' and reiterated that it has been 'pretty s**t'.

Later in the podcast, Yvette performed a tarot reading for Helen, warning of 'challenges ahead' that could 'make you grow'. Helen retorted: 'Babe, don't you think I've had enough challenge?' But Yvette reassured her: 'I do feel like with you, Hels, I feel like you're getting your power back. I feel like you're such a strong, powerful, amazing woman, and sometimes, can I say, you lose that power a little bit. And we lose you, and we go, 'we've lost Hels, but she'll come back.' Their relationship moved quickly, with Dan moving into the home she shares with her two children at the start of 2026. Following the split, Helen posted cryptic messages on Instagram. She shared a picture of her daughter in a field with the caption: 'When the chaos leaves, the calm resumes.' She also posted a quote about 'disrespect': 'I absolutely take responsibility for when I am wrong. But I will never apologise for responding to disrespect.
