Heckler crashes car after shouting abuse at Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage was subject to verbal abuse from a passing car, but the heckler crashed her vehicle seconds later. The Reform UK leader posted the clip on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption: “This lady shouted abuse at me and then crashed her own car. That’s what you might call instant karma!”

Incident in Clacton

Farage had been campaigning in Clacton ahead of his by-election showdown when a Vauxhall Astra passed and a woman shouted “w*****” at him. In the clip, the car is seen whizzing past Farage while the obscenities are hurled out of the window. Two seconds later, the car fails to brake and smacks into the car ahead at the traffic lights.

Online Reaction

The clip split opinion online. Many people criticised Farage for his response, which seemingly made light of what could have been a serious two-car collision. One X user wrote: “One would imagine as a 'free speech' bastion you'd 'park' hurty words and check the drivers OK not post a video jubilantly celebrating a collision involving two vehicles.” Another person sided with Farage: “Lefties in the comments saying this shouldn’t be shared and she could of been hurt, guess what if she wasn’t hurling abuse out the window and paying attention to the road she wouldn’t of crashed, in fact isn’t this careless driving? Hope she’s been reported.”

Upcoming By-Election

Next month Farage will face a record 33 rival candidates in the by-election he triggered in protest at media and parliamentary scrutiny of his finances and backers. The main Westminster parties are boycotting the Clacton by-election, dismissing it as a stunt by the Reform UK leader, leaving joke candidate Count Binface and actor-turned-politician Laurence Fox as his highest-profile opponents.
