Michelle Williams' daughter Matilda is the spitting image of her late father Heath Ledger. The 18-year-old was spotted out in Brooklyn, New York City, earlier this week with her mother and grandmother Carla, looking more and more like the late actor.
Michelle and Heath met on the set of their film Brokeback Mountain and began dating in 2004. Matilda was born in October 2005. Tragically, Heath died in 2007 from a cardiac arrest caused by an accidental drug overdose when his daughter was just 15 months old.
In an interview with The Telegraph earlier this year, Matilda's paternal grandparents, Sally and Kim, said she is a 'reminder' of Heath following his death. They admitted they don't get to see her as often as they would like due to Williams' 'lifestyle' in New York, but they make trips to visit when they can.
Earlier this year, Heath's father revealed his son's last words were to his sister Kate, warning him about prescription drugs. Kim told Daily Mail Australia: 'The last conversation Kate had with him was this discussion about his medications and she warned him, “You can't mix drugs that you don't know anything about.” He said “Katie, Katie, I'll be fine!” Well, that's a cavalier boy's answer.'
The 28-year-old was found unconscious by his housekeeper and pronounced dead by paramedics in January 2007. Kim added: 'It was no one else's – he reached for them. He put them in his system. You can't blame anyone else in that situation. That's hard to accept because I loved him so much and was so proud of him.'
