Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced fresh criticism over their planned UK visit, with a royal commentator branding their actions a “painfully orchestrated PR stunt.” The couple had been expected to travel to the UK in July to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, bringing their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, for a reunion with King Charles after four years apart.
However, reports indicate that Harry’s plans have changed after he was denied taxpayer-funded security during his visit. Without protection from the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC), Harry believes his family will not be safe, leading to speculation that he will travel alone while Meghan and the children remain in California.
Commentator Calls Out 'PR Stunt'
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield slammed the decision during an appearance on TalkTV with host Jeremy Kyle. “We both said we’ll believe it when we see it. This all felt like a painfully orchestrated PR stunt,” Schofield said, according to the show. She predicted that Meghan and the children would not come, and Harry would blame security to “villanise his father.”
Schofield added: “My prediction was that Meghan and the kids would not come and Harry would say it’s because of security all to, yet again, villanise his father and say, ‘Look at my dad not taking care of us and not making my family feel safe in the UK.’”
Jeremy Kyle Warns of 'End Game'
Jeremy Kyle criticised the Sussexes for repeatedly mocking King Charles, suggesting Queen Camilla may soon intervene. “This will be the end game. I think that Charles, probably because he’s not well, thought, ‘It would be nice for me to meet the grandchildren.’ Then the Sussexes PR machine goes into full swing,” Kyle said. He added: “I think Camilla’s a massive part of this. It’s been widely touted that she’s as lacking in love for Harry and Meghan as William and Kate are. I think there will come a time when she says to her husband, ‘You’ve done everything. These people are taking the mick out of you and nothing will ever satisfy them.’”
Kyle expressed hope that “the Palace wakes up to the fact that they are just going to push and push them.”
Backlash Over Grandchildren Reunion
Schofield argued that Harry’s move has backfired, potentially making him “look like the villain.” She said: “If Prince Harry refuses to allow his father to see his grandchildren after four years, then it’s Harry who is going to look like the villain. It is Harry that’s going to look like the piece of trash. King Charles is living with cancer, continues to show up every day and work and do a great job as an ambassador to the United Kingdom.”
The commentator also noted that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, recently lost a limb and has yet to meet his grandchildren. “Harry and Meghan cry and complain. All they talk about is how empathetic and compassionate they are, but their actions say otherwise. The King deserves to see his grandchildren. Harry and Meghan are manipulative and self-serving and I’m sick of it!” she added.
