Harper Beckham, 14, Wears Mum Victoria's Dress in Ibiza as Beauty Brand Plans Hit Snag
Harper Beckham Wears Victoria's Dress, Beauty Plans Stalled

Harper Beckham, 14, has once again followed in her mother's fashionable footsteps, raiding Victoria's wardrobe for a chiffon summer dress during a family outing in Ibiza on Monday. Just days after Victoria, 52, was seen in the same gown—reportedly a new release from her fashion label—Harper sported the identical look, proving to be a true fan of her mother's style.

Family Outing in Ibiza

Harper accessorised the brown, floral-printed dress with a £1,275 Bottega Veneta clutch bag and £680 Hermès Oran sandals. She was joined by her brother Romeo, 23, his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, and Victoria. David Beckham, 51, skipped the lunch to relax on the family's £16 million yacht. The family arrived in Ibiza earlier this week for the school holidays.

Victoria's Fashion Business Update

Last week, Victoria revealed she is open to selling her fashion business, valued at £100 million, after a 20-year journey to be taken seriously as a designer. The Spice Girls star's company had debts of £53.9 million in 2022 but profitability improved after a sold-out collection. Revenues have now topped £100 million. Victoria, who once borrowed £30 million from husband David's company, said she would 'never say never' to selling but insisted she won't return to singing, having 'passed the baton on to talented son Cruz'. Speaking to the Financial Times, she expressed excitement about opening stores in New York and Miami, focusing on retail expansion.

Harper's Beauty Brand Plans

Harper is reportedly launching a debut beauty range aimed at Gen Z and Gen Alpha, inspired by South Korean cosmetics, this summer. However, plans hit a snag when the US Patent and Trademark Office issued an 'initial refusal' for the trademark 'HIKU BY Harper', citing potential confusion with existing companies. 'Harper' is registered for brooms and scrubbing brushes, while 'Hiku' is trademarked for toiletry and fragrance products. The Beckhams applied for the trademark in November and have six months to appeal. Victoria revealed on Emma Grede's podcast that Harper's 'really bad' acne inspired the brand, with Harper creating PowerPoint presentations to pitch her idea. Victoria said, 'I'm so proud of all my children, but Harper is very ambitious.'

Family's Trademark History

The Beckhams have long protected their children's names. Victoria registered Harper's name for branded products when she was just five. Intellectual property expert Oliver Bray called it 'unprecedented' to trademark a child's name, but noted it reflects savvy future-proofing in a social media-driven world.
