David Harbour reportedly avoided having his photo taken with co-star Winona Ryder at the premiere of 'Stranger Things' Season 5, according to sources. The event, held in Los Angeles, saw the cast reunite for the final season's launch.
The fifth and final season of the Netflix series will be released in three parts, starting November 26, 2025. Part 2 arrives on Christmas Day, and the concluding Part 3 on New Year's Eve. The season consists of eight episodes, with runtimes around one hour each, except the fourth episode which runs 1 hour 24 minutes.
Season 5 picks up in fall 1987, over a year after the events of Season 4. The finale of Season 4 ended with Vecna opening a massive gate to the Upside Down, causing destruction in Hawkins. New cast members include Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton, whose role remains undisclosed.
Production on Season 5 began in January 2024 and wrapped in December 2024, after delays due to the pandemic and Hollywood strikes. The writers' room opened in August 2022. Episode titles were released on November 6, 2024, with hints of Dungeons & Dragons lore and a time jump.
