S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt has revealed that her former bandmates have stopped speaking to her following her decision to pull out of the band's 25th-anniversary reunion tour. The 42-year-old singer, who quit the tour earlier this year after the death of bandmate Paul Cattermole, told The Sun that she has not been in contact with any of them since leaving.
Spearritt, who is set to release a tell-all memoir titled Facing The Music on October 12, said her exit was driven by mental and physical health struggles. She described suffering from crippling panic attacks, severe vertigo, and exhaustion, which were exacerbated by the stress of Cattermole's death. 'I had a compromised immune system, and stress made it worse. My body just couldn't cope,' she said.
The mother of two admitted that she doubts she will ever perform with S Club 7 again. 'Will I ever perform with them again? I just don't know. I'm glad the tour is still going ahead and the songs will live on, but now I'm looking forward, not backwards,' she shared.
Spearritt initially left the band in February when the reunion was announced, but her departure was confirmed in May, a month after Cattermole's passing. Fellow member Jon Lee had stated at the time that although she would always be part of S Club 7, she would not be joining the tour. Spearritt now says she is at peace with her decision and wishes her former bandmates well.
