Hamilton music shop owner and bassist Tommy Graham dies at 80

Legendary local musician and music shop owner Tommy Graham has passed away after a short illness.

Tommy, 80, who ran The Music Centre in Hamilton for 50 years, also had a distinguished career as a bass player and appeared in sessions with the BBC Scottish Radio Orchestra.

Career and legacy

He opened the business in 1976 in Gateside Street, moving to Cadzow Street in 1982.

Tommy is survived by wife Janice and children Kirsty, Callum and Neil.

Funeral details

His funeral will take place on Wednesday July 29 at 2pm at South Lanarkshire Crematorium, then afterwards to Carrigan’s in Hamilton, where there will be an open mic session in Tommy’s honour.
