Halle Berry has been ordered by a court to pay her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey $20,000 a month in child support for their four-year-old daughter, Nahla. The ruling, made on Monday, grants Aubrey's request for $240,000 annually to maintain the lifestyle the child is accustomed to.
The former couple, who split in April 2010, have been locked in a custody dispute for the past 18 months. Earlier this year, Aubrey filed legal papers seeking at least $15,000 a month, but the case was adjourned due to incorrect paperwork.
Berry and Aubrey remain at odds over plans for the actress to relocate to France with Nahla and her fiancé, Olivier Martinez. Berry cites France's strict privacy laws as a reason for the move, hoping to protect her daughter from media attention. Aubrey is reportedly unhappy with the proposal.
Berry has stated, 'All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life. When I'm not at work, that's very important to me.' The custody and relocation issues are yet to be resolved.
