Halle Berry has responded to her ex-husband David Justice's recent comments that she wasn't 'motherly' enough during their marriage, with a light-hearted social media post. The Oscar-winning actress shared a carousel of images on Instagram, including herself with her partner Van Hunt, a card from her children, and photos of her relaxing with wine and cake.
'Phew…! cooking, cleaning and mothering,' she wrote in the caption, directly addressing Justice's remarks. The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans, with one commenting, 'Nobody puts Berry in a corner,' and another calling her 'Caption Queen'.
Justice, a former professional baseball player, made the comments on the All the Smoke podcast, claiming he married Berry in 1993 because he 'didn't want to make her feel bad and say no'. He said he had doubts after the wedding, expecting a wife to 'cook, clean' and be 'motherly', but admitted he was young and that therapy might have saved their marriage.
The couple divorced in 1997. Berry, now 59, has two children and is in a long-term relationship with Van Hunt.
