MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace has opened up about his remarkable five-stone weight loss, achieved over two years through gradual lifestyle changes. The 59-year-old, who now shares fitness updates on social media, said he 'hardly noticed' the transformation as he slowly adopted healthier habits.
Wallace, who once described himself as a 'fat, drunk person', revealed he ditched takeaways, snacks, and alcohol to slim down from 17 stone to 12 stone. He stressed the importance of patience, saying: 'I never did anything radical that made me feel uncomfortable. I just, bit by bit, made better and better choices.'
The presenter's weight loss was prompted by a health scare. At his heaviest, with a BMI of 36.1 and dangerously high cholesterol, doctors warned he was at risk of diabetes and a heart attack. 'That was scary – a proper wake-up call,' he said.
Wallace now cooks from scratch, avoiding processed foods, and exercises regularly. He credits his success to making changes gradually, which allowed him to maintain his new lifestyle without regaining weight. 'Be kind to yourself, Rome wasn't built in a day,' he advised.
