Greg James Confirms Attending Taylor Swift's Wedding After Invite
Greg James Confirms Taylor Swift Wedding Attendance

BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James has confirmed he attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding in New York City, after the singer personally invited him during a Radio 1 interview last year. James revealed the news on Instagram, posting a picture of a massive slice of pizza and captioning it: "I am currently experiencing the world's greatest hangover and unable to reply to the hilarious number of messages I have received over the last 24 hours." He added: "True to her word, of course the invitation arrived, and of course I couldn't tell anyone. And oh my God, what an unbelievably brilliant night. I'm off for a nap."

Journey to the Wedding

James jetted off to New York after a night out in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, where he and Radio 1 co-host Alice Levine were promoting their Bad Chat podcast at the Crossed Wires Festival. The duo visited the iconic Fagans pub on Broad Lane on Thursday evening before enjoying a meal at local hotspot Béres, where they indulged in a traditional sandwich filled with ham, crackling and stuffing. Even Greg's Radio 1 colleagues were left wondering if he'd made a swift departure to New York after he failed to pick up his phone.

The Invitation

Last year, Taylor Swift said that Greg would be on the guest list for her nuptials, as both she and new husband Travis Kelce are big admirers of the broadcaster. Despite rumours suggesting Greg hadn't attended, he has now revealed that he and his wife Bella flew out to the Big Apple for the wedding of the century. Greg attended the grand occasion with Bella, who turned heads in a stunning red frock. Greg himself was looking sharp in an all-black suit as the couple struck a pose for a snapshot before making their way to Madison Square Garden.

Long-Standing Friendship

The friendship between Greg and Taylor spans over 10 years, with their initial bonding moment occurring when he chauffeured her around London in a "dodgy hatchback" during an interview. Taylor has even spoken about their connection, stating they "get" each other's sense of humour. Last year, Greg humorously suggested he'd like Travis to execute a wrestling move on him into a swimming pool. Taylor responded: "The way that he's going to do that as soon as he sees you at our wedding. That's gonna happen." When Greg queried whether he'd be on the guest list, Taylor assured him: "Obviously."

Secrecy and Confirmation

Greg remained tight-lipped about his wedding invitation. When questioned earlier this year on This Morning about whether he'd be joining Graham Norton at the ceremony, he said: "I wish that I could come to you today with news of an invitation, but I've said this on the radio and to my friends who have been like, 'Have you got the invitation yet?' And I've said, not yet. Or maybe never! And I do think it will be great if I get to go with me and Graham [Norton], and also very funny if I don't get an invitation."

Wedding Details

During the ceremony, Taylor and Travis exchanged vows with their mate Adam Sandler officiating. Taylor's long-time publicist, Tree Paine, revealed: "The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler." Fellow attendees included Zoe Kravitz, Karlie Kloss, Jack Antonoff, Gigi Hadid, Graham Norton, Ed Sheeran, and Hugh Grant. Taylor's renowned "girl squad", featuring Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham and the Haim sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana, were also present.
