Gordon Ramsay delivered a fiery speech at his daughter Holly Ramsay's wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty last Saturday, according to reports. The celebrity chef, 59, walked his daughter down the aisle and then took to the stage at the star-studded reception, making a series of cheeky jokes at the expense of his new son-in-law.
According to The Sun, Ramsay told the couple that his wife Tana 'will be a good mum to them both', a remark seen as a dig at the absence of many of Peaty's family members. He also reportedly gushed over Holly's appearance, telling Peaty he was a 'lucky man', before joking that Holly was a 'shame you don't have the same' when comparing her to Tana.
The chef also poked fun at the £50,000 worth of white roses covering Bath Abbey, where the ceremony took place, quipping that only Holly would choose to cover the church's windows. He allegedly called Holly the 'most expensive' of his six children, referencing her linking his credit card to her Apple Pay, and warned that his other kids would have to settle for a register office wedding.
An insider described the day as 'magical' and 'joyous', noting that Ramsay's speech had everyone laughing and crying. TV presenter Dan Walker, a guest, praised the wedding on social media, calling it a 'great wedding' with 'brilliant speeches'.
The wedding has been overshadowed by drama within Peaty's family, with only his sister Beth attending. His mother Caroline, father Mark, and brothers James and Richard reportedly stayed home in Staffordshire.
