Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana have broken their silence on the feud with Adam Peaty's family, but their attempts at reconciliation have been met with fury. The TV chef claimed he and Tana treated Peaty's family 'like royalty' and expressed hope that the rift could be healed. However, the Olympic swimmer's relatives have now hit back, accusing Ramsay of being a 'big bully'.
A family source told The Sun: 'We are outraged. Gordon is nothing but a big bully and we hate bullies. How dare they – the sheer gall of them! You have pushed us too far!' The source also denied that Ramsay treated Adam's mother, Caroline, 'like royalty', alleging she was ignored and that Tana never returned any of Caroline's texts. A promised lunch after the engagement also failed to materialise.
The row stems from the wedding of Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay, Gordon's daughter, which took place at Bath Abbey on 27 December. Adam's mother was uninvited, and only his sister Bethany attended from his side. Meanwhile, the Beckhams and several of Adam's Strictly Come Dancing co-stars, including Dan Walker and Sara Davies, were present at the star-studded event.
Gordon and Tana had earlier stated they wanted to 'draw a line in the sand' and visit the Peaty family in Nottingham, but the latest outburst suggests the feud is far from over.
