Goldie Hawn, 79, was seen enjoying time with her eldest granddaughter, Rio Hudson, nine, in a rare family photo shared by Rio’s father, Oliver Hudson. The sweet image, posted on Mother’s Day, shows Rio sitting on her mother Erinn Bartlett’s knee and planting a kiss on her cheek.
Rio bears a striking resemblance to her famous grandmother, with long blonde wavy hair that fans often note mirrors Goldie’s. The little girl was given the middle name Laura at birth, a tribute to Goldie’s late mother.
Rio, who is kept largely out of the spotlight, made a rare appearance last year on her father’s podcast, Unconsciously Coupled, where she charmed listeners. Oliver and Erinn also have two sons, Bodhi, 12, and Wilder, 15.
Goldie has a total of seven grandchildren, including three from her daughter Kate Hudson: Ryder, 19; Bingham, 11; and Rani, four. Her son Wyatt and his wife Meredith have a son named Buddy, born in 2020.
The Oscar-winning actress has often spoken about the joy of being a grandmother, telling Australian Women’s Weekly that “a good family is the answer to happiness” and that “being a grandmother is amazing, I love it. It brings incredible joy.”
