Gogglebox star Steve Sheehan spent several days in hospital after falling ill, his wife Sue has revealed in an Instagram post. The couple have appeared on the Channel 4 show together since 2019.
Sue shared snaps of Steve, including one showing him lying in a hospital bed, another with a black eye, and a third where he looked much better. She wrote: "What a difference a week makes. Steve was a little poorly and had to spend a few days in hospital but he is home now. Out for lunch and enjoying his first beer in a while. Just call me Nurse Ratched."
Support from Gogglebox co-stars
The post drew supportive comments from their Gogglebox co-stars. Lee Riley and Jenny Newby wrote: "Happy to hear your feeling a lot better Dave. I am sure nurse ratchet will be of assistance [laughing emojis] love Jenny and Lee x" Dave and Shirley Griffiths commented: "Hope Steve is well soon love to you both Dave and Shirley xx."
Fans also offered well-wishes. One wrote: "Pleased to see you on the mend Steve, you and Sue are a lovely couple and absolutely hilarious on Gogglebox." Another said: "Stay strong Steve, better days ahead." A third commented: "Glad to hear he is on the mend."
Bell's Palsy diagnosis
Sue has previously revealed she was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, which caused temporary weakness or paralysis in the muscles on one side of her face. She told viewers she has had to "re-learn" some things, saying: "One is to speak through the side of my mouth, and the other one is chewing. Chewing takes a long time."
Steve joked: "I have offered to chew your food for you, but you declined. I've gotta say, you haven't lost the sharp side of your tongue though, have you?" Sue quipped: "No, it's sharper than ever actually."
