Mary Killen, known for her witty humour and posh quips on Gogglebox, has revealed that appearing on the Channel 4 show saved her marriage. The armchair critic said that filming together provided bonding time with her husband, Giles, reminding her why she fell in love with him.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Mary explained: 'Giles and I were like ships that pass in the night. I got up early. He went to bed late and we rarely even ate together.' She added that sitting down to watch television reminded them how much they enjoyed the same jokes.
The couple met over three decades ago at Wimbledon College of Art, where Giles was a student and Mary worked as a costume model. They have two adult children. Mary revealed that Giles has a multiple personality disorder, describing him as both a genius and neurotic. She also noted his clumsy tendencies, including stubbing his toe and making a 'tremendous fuss'.
Despite his irritating antics, Mary concluded that all men are annoying in their own way, and she would not swap Giles for any other husband. She said: 'Would you prefer one of your friends' husbands? I've thought about each one in turn and concluded their habits are even more irritating than Giles.'
