Giant star Jamie Bigg has reportedly ended his relationship with girlfriend Taylor Ryan, just two months after their romance led to his departure from the BBC series Gladiators. The 40-year-old bodybuilder is now solo in Spain, focusing on self-improvement, according to a source.
Breakup confirmed by insider
An insider told the Daily Mail: 'They haven't ruled out getting back together in the future, but Jamie knows he needs to work on himself right now.' The couple had been dating for several months before the controversy erupted.
Jamie confirmed his exit from the Gladiators reboot in April, stating that BBC producers ended his contract after learning his girlfriend, 25-year-old Taylor Ryan, was an OnlyFans creator. He told Metro: 'I made it clear that I was planning to go public with my relationship, including the fact that my partner works as an OnlyFans creator, and shortly after that, I was told I wouldn’t be continuing on Gladiators. It wasn’t something I expected, especially given the commitment I’ve shown to the role.'
Cryptic social media post
While Jamie has not directly addressed the split, he shared a reflective Instagram post on Tuesday. He wrote: 'Lately, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting. Not on what I’ve achieved, but on who I want to become. Right now, I’m doing what I find the hardest… I’m taking the time I need to work on myself. I’m spending time in my own busy brain trying to unpack and make sense of all the thoughts. I’m rebuilding routines, strengthening my mindset, improving my health, and gaining clarity on the man I want to be.'
Relationship fallout
At the time of his Gladiators exit, Jamie expressed surprise at the BBC's stance. 'I’ve always taken being in the public eye seriously, and I believe being a role model is about honesty as well as professionalism. For me, that means not hiding parts of who I am or the people I care about,' he told Metro.
The pair appeared together on Good Morning Britain in a show of solidarity following the news. Despite the upheaval, Jamie remains optimistic about his TV career. He told The Sun: 'TV is something that I would very much like to continue. Having the flexibility and the ability to speak about more taboo subjects is something that moving forward, perhaps, can now happen.'
Future plans
Jamie hinted at upcoming projects, saying: 'There are a lot of things in the pipeline at the minute. It’s actually a very, very exciting time and I’m definitely looking forward to the future. I can’t divulge any information on particular shows or events, situations just yet.'
Metro has reached out to Jamie Bigg for comment on the reported split.
